5 Ideas for Your Valentines Day Look

It’s that time of year, where love is in the air! There’s no better way to feel the love than looking the part in the season’s trendiest colors and styles. We know for sure that pink and red are on the agenda, but let’s get into specifics. Here are 5 ideas for your Valentine’s Day look! - Brenda Gonzalez / @imstyledbyb

  1. A Blush Pink Peacoat (Or Blazer)

The blush pink color is on very trend for the spring season and perfect for Valentine’s Day! With the blazer (or jacket), you get to maintain your warmth, add a soft pop of color to your look, and “serve looks” – all at the same time. You can add this jacket to an otherwise basic outfit, or layer it onto a magenta or red dress for color-blocking effect.

2. A Two-Toned, Pink/Red Top (Or Dress)

Color-blocking is a must this Valentine’s Day! The key is to get 2-3 holiday friendly colors – like red and pink – and bring them together. Any more than 3 colors can be a little too much visually. To be safe set a limit of 2 colors. In this look, the dress perfectly brings together this concept. You can also color-block on your own. Bright orange, red, magenta, and soft pink, for example, are all color options to stand out on this special day.

3. Rose Gold Jewelry

Rose-gold jewelry has been trending for a while now. If I had to measure, it’s been a few years where rose-gold has been a trendy alternative option to yellow or white gold. For Valentine’s Day, it’s the perfect pick – for festivity and style purposes. Because rose gold is an accent piece, you can use rose-gold bracelets to step up any outfit.

4. Leather Leggings

You can opt for black patent leather, vegan leather, or genuine leather. The choice is yours, but you need to have at least one of them. These leggings are a “fashion staple” that you will wear over, and over, in different ways.

Since we know that “fashion staples”… clothing, shoe, or accessory… will be in style for a long period of time, let’s also think long term. We will wear these leggings this Winter, in the Spring and probably again next Fall. Get a good pair of leather leggings and you can add just about any top to them. Consider it similar to a good pair of jeans.

5. Black Boots

A good black bootie is also a fashion staple. As a rule of thumb, get a black bootie with a modest high heel - you’ll be able to dress this up or down with ease. You can pair these booties with the leather legging, color-block outfit, a pair of jeans, and just about any Winter look.
